Archived builds and Builds[]

Recently archived builds will still show up in whatever category because the cache hasn't been refreshed. You can force it to by doing a (null) edit (editing the page and pressing save without doing anything will do it). or you can wait a while and it should eventually do it (not sure on the exact number). ~ PheNaxKian talk 11:59, 3 January 2011 (UTC)

If you don't play on GW any more...[]

... how on earth can you still rate builds? D:--Blue Screen Of Doom 14:01, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

It doesn't take much to see whether or not a build is viable after playing GW for a while. It's basically this:
  • PvE: Does it do stupid amounts of damage or does it provide stupid amounts of survivability or does it provide stupid amounts of utility? Does it abuse skills to the max?
  • PvP: Can it do it's job?

^ GW mechanics have not changed much over the lifetime of the game (and such changes tended towards making things simpler). It's pretty easy to determine what builds are more effective than others in most cases. Builds that are harder to judge without playing or at least watching generally involve playing to new mechanics (like when VoD was replaced with Aggression; GvG builds had to change significantly to account for changed win conditions), and weird AI quirks that no one noticed before that allow builds to work when they otherwise wouldn't (like the AFK Luxon FF). Obviously, you need to know an area and the strategies/mechanics relevant to it before you can make a reasonable vote on its builds, but once you have that knowledge down it is rarely ever invalidated. -- ToraenTheJanitorToraenSig2 09:25, 16 March 2011 (UTC)
