- Try PvX - Thc. That's what we had to do with people who's username was already taken by another wikia user.

- I just looked under the user list in special pages, and Thc no longer existed. So, I looked for PVX-Thc and found it. Someone must have had your name already. If you want to change it or fight to get your old name back, post on that page I linked.

[edit] Spawning power Bugged amount
For the builds involving a ritualist with spawning power you seem to be at a fault, spawning power adds 4% duration to weapon spells per point. As an example at level 10 it will add 40% duration if you add this to a weapon spell that has 20 seconds base it will go to 28 not 24. I figure one of your coders has either set it to 2% or somthing.
- Yes, it used to be 2%, but the rit buff update changed it to 4%. PvXcode hasn't updated yet, and this problem is noted here. ToraenTheJanitor

[edit] FC on signets
This barely even matters at all (if at all) but:
you can see here when fast casting is high on signets the cast time goes onto negative numbers whereas with spells the number stays at 0.0. It really doesn't make a difference to anything but you know :P 15pxMrMetalFLower-...tlk 15:42, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
- it also scales kinda awkwardly, like you can see here the longest casting signets have the lowest number (i.e. furthest into negative number) casting times... 15pxMrMetalFLower-...tlk 15:44, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
- Fast casting scales linearly for signets and follows an exponential model for spells. The behaviour is correct.
Misery Says Moo 15:48, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
- It's just the whole idea that it's not possible to do something 10 seconds before you've cast it :P OK so it's not possible to get a high enough level for it either but it's just not mathematically sound :P 15pxMrMetalFLower-...tlk 15:51, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
- If signets scale linearly and spells scale exponentially it is mathematically sound. With linear scaling you can get under 0, with exponential you cannot. It is expected behavior. Dragnmn talk cont 14:29, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
- Don't put in gigantic numbers - problem solved. Though, I would be interested in what would happen if you managed to get 34+ FC. It would either assume 0 and be instant cast, or crash the server, I'd imagine. ··· Danny Does Drugs 19:15, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

- wikia do.I believe TOR made it so the skills rip descriptions from either GWiki or GWWiki, so some skill descirptions are the PvE version, others are PvP version, and others are a mix. ~ PheNaxKian Sysop 09:24, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
- I meant that the green number ought to be changing depending on specified strength; instead it stays in general form (90...258...300) regardless. And is not green. Which leads me to believe that it just has to do with how the numbers were put in; the system is probably recognizing the numbers as a static part of the skill description, rather than a variable part. --Mafaraxas (User:Mafaraxas) 09:54, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

- Hi, Ninjatek. The admins are aware that some of the skills are not perfect, but unfortunately we are not always able to do something about it. Our site having incorrect skill descriptions is a database issue, and one that only Wikia staff can fix. However, you can help us by pointing out skills that still have inaccurate skill descriptions, so we can relay them to the Wikia staff. Thanks. Karate

[edit] Linking and linebreaks
Blood is Power
In the above example, we have two blue texts. Normally, one would think these would be hyperlinks to the appropriate skill pages on guildwiki/guild wars wiki. However, they're not (though clicking on them appears to do something with javascript anyway). It'd be cool if they would link to the official wiki.
There's also a random linebreak in the final appearance even though there isn't in the code. This makes little sense given that normal links don't break lines.

- What about Fast Casting, or are we leaving that because it will be messy since it's split for pvp. Frostels 19:43, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
- I was thinking we could at least do the 'doesn't affect non-Mesmer skills below 2 sec base cast' restriction, but I forgot to bring it up with Phen after finishing mysticism. For now we're leaving the PvE split alone on that because I don't want to crash PvX, which would certainly happen since it'd be so complicated. Also, the leadership effect on energy costs will be removed, since it didn't really reflect how the attribute works in game. Might re-add it with the functionality described above, but it's not a high priority. ToraenTheJanitor

The PvP nerf to fast casting is now in as well. We've got code for the PvE version, but it would require splitting every mesmer spell. Since we don't have working template IDs for the PvP skills right now, I'd rather not force their use in PvP builds. Whenever Bumble gets on I'll send him the files to sync. ToraenTheJanitor
01:02, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- I actually just had a thought about this. It'd perhaps be a more complicated, but it'd be a better solution than having PvP versions of all skills. Basically we'd have something similar to the Divine favour function (where it displays the bonus under the description), except it'd show the reduced recharge time (so say "the reduced recharge time of this skill is: XYZ" or something. ~ PheNaxKian talk 20:33, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- That would be good. Also, Bumble says he'll likely have the updated files up Tuesday. That doesn't include PvE fastcasting obviously, but if we finish the code before then we can ask to get it included. -- ToraenTheJanitor

- That would be good. Also, Bumble says he'll likely have the updated files up Tuesday. That doesn't include PvE fastcasting obviously, but if we finish the code before then we can ask to get it included. -- ToraenTheJanitor
I think they uploaded the gwbbcode.inc file to the wrong directory; for some reason there's an outdated version of it outside the gwbbcode directory that isn't used and our update probably got uploaded over that one. I'm not seeing any of the changes. It should affect fast casting (limitation on non-mesmer skills and PvE recharge), mysticism (dervexpertise), spawning power (duration buff updated) and leadership (cost effect removed). Also, we'll need to work out how to get the enchantment icon to show up on flash enchantments at some point. -- ToraenTheJanitor
17:21, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
- Possible, not sure which directory it should be in (too lazy to find out by looking at the different files etc.). Flash enchantments now have the enchantment icon however (it was an easy fix once I knew how it was done >.> (helps if you look at the right file or pay more attention =/)). The other stuff we'll have to wait and see how well it works. All being well though there shouldn't be any problems. ~ PheNaxKian talk 19:45, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
- Well, there's two subdirectories in the PvX extension, and it's supposed to go in the 'gwbbcode' subdirectory (because that's the one we edited that had the current functionality of pvxbig). The one in the main directory is a really old version (its FC doesn't affect signets, among other things). The other subdirectory is for the rating system. -- ToraenTheJanitor
21:21, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
- Ah. Just to point out, the "rate" folder just holds the images used by the rating extension, not the rating extension itself. ~ PheNaxKian talk 22:35, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Dervish skills
Something to fix:
-
Eremite's Zeal has type Spell instead of Enchantment Spell. -
Lyssa's Haste description has not been updated. -
Aura Slicer it's a melee attack not a scythe attack. -
Zealous Sweep it's "1 adrenaline" not 1 strike of adrenaline. -
Mystic Sweep Has 1 second activation time for PvE, not 3/4. -
Guiding Hands wiki has it as [s], change it if it matters. -
Attacker's Insight remove the second "seconds". -
Intensity cast time is 0 not 1. -
Zealous Renewal remove the cast time. -
Ursan Blessing,
Raven Blessing,
Volfen Blessing Forms now, not skills.
Mantra of Signets Incorrect skill id pointer.
Signet of Mystic Speed cast time is 1 not 0.

- I already made that request yesterday (there was some settings I asked to be changed so we can have a working RSS feed for RC and asked for the extension to be synced at the same time). Can't hurt to remind though =p. ~ PheNaxKian talk 00:40, 4 March 2011 (UTC)

Chieftain Alex 08:39, 10 May 2011 (UTC)
- PvXbig does not use the images uploaded to the wiki. It uses a set of images uploaded to the server with the extension. I've already prepared all the skill icons that need to be uploaded. -- Toraen talk 12:58, 10 May 2011 (UTC)

[edit] gww:Skill in <pvxbig>
If you put a gww:Skill link in <pvxbig>, it will show as such, but if you put Skill it will show Skill. For example:
gww:Death's Charge Death's Charge
Zyke (User:Zyke) 02:44, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
- It seems the wiki will automatically change gww:Death's Charge to Death's Charge outside of <pvxbig> but not inside it.. Zyke (User:Zyke) 02:50, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
- yeh....I'm not seeing an issue here....care to elaborate? ~ PheNaxKian talk 15:02, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
- Why do you want to link to gww in pvxbig in the first place? most of the time all you will have is:
And in that you have a link to the skill (the picture). Frostels 15:13, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
- It just annoys me that gww:Death's Charge doesn't change to Death's Charge within <pvxbig>[. Zyke (User:Zyke) 23:04, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

- new comments at the bottom, the only exception is if you're replying to a specific post, and even then, at the bottom of that "thread".
- Just to point out that some skill name in <pvxbig> (i.e. a standard skill bar) actually does link to GWW. Zyke was referring to the in-line pop ups (where you have the skill name and hover over and get a pop up). I'll comment on this matter again, as i have since looked into it, and it's not going to happen any time soon (if at all). The codes over my head (and hell even the stuff I thought wasn't is breaking for some reason!) ~ PheNaxKian talk 23:03, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
[edit] Builds&ipods (mb smartphones aswell)
when I look at pvx on my iPod, a build isn't put in a gray box like normal. Instead the skills are all one beneath the other, with the template code hanging below them. Falrach (User:Falrach) 21:48, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
- It's fine on my smartphone (has Android OS). This will probably never be dealt with though, since we can only make minor changes to PvXcode at best. -- Toraen talk 21:53, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
- Also I'm not going to )re-)write the extension or the CSS to make the site compatible with mobile devices. Mind you I vaguely remember someone posting somewhere (possibly IRC) that they were working on a mobile app of sorts. Though I don't know what came of that. ~ PheNaxKian talk 00:15, 24 September 2011 (UTC)

- ah....chances are then that's a mediawiki thing (the software the site runs on). We were upgraded to the latest version (1.17 off the top of my head, but i'll check in a second). ~ PheNaxKian talk 12:40, 24 September 2011 (UTC)
- yeah, version 1.17.0. So it was either that or the "Curse Extenstions v1.0" that was added as well (neither of which we can do anything about). I'll talk to the guys from curse and find out what exactly their extension does, because I believe it alters CSS ~ PheNaxKian talk 12:42, 24 September 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Additional Bonuses
When bonuses beyond headgear and a primary profession's runes are put into the attributes of a build (12+1+1+2 for say, the current flux) the template code is usually not generated. -- Toraen confer 19:28, 11 March 2012 (UTC)
- well given that's it's outside the span of normal mechanics it's not designed to allow that. ~ PheNaxKian talk 19:42, 11 March 2012 (UTC)
- I've looked at the code and it specifically forbids bonuses greater than 4 (or 3 when the headpiece has already been used) and "assigns runes" (I can't tell if this still has any effect on anything). It looks like a now pointless 'feature' left in because no one wanted to touch it. The amount of bonuses should be irrelevant to generating the template code anyway, since it splits the base and bonus values. Guess we're not changing it though since that would involve gutting a rather large block of code. -- Toraen confer 02:09, 12 March 2012 (UTC)
