Mind Burn rating[]

So, why take Mind Blast to fuel a 25e spell, when you can take the 5e elite Rodgort for even more damage, and have Glowing Gaze more than enough for energy management? Other than being easier to use for casuals, I don't see a strict advantage of Mind Blast over Mind Burn unless we take a look at all the other skills, and even then they fulfill different playstyles there. Because I'm not the most advanced PvP player out there, I would like to know the justification for Blast being so above Burn. :) DiogoALS 14:18, 15 March 2012 (UTC)

Because Mind Blast lets you spam Immolate and Rodgort's, that's the simple answer. It's also a lot more versatile in that it can spec heavily into another attribute for defense such as tactics/air (bflash) etc. Mind Blast can also still be strong if games last longer than a minute unlike spamming Mind Burn. Basically, Mind Blast allows you to cycle through damage spells with ease and produce massive dps as well as big aoe damage. Mind Burn although very strong in the right situation is just not as versatile as Mind Blast. Don't let my rating stop you playing it though, since RA is pretty stupid in that most builds you can concoct will work there. Frostels 18:26, 15 March 2012 (UTC)

I'd say a Mind Burn + Liquid Flame/ Fireball spike is better than Immolate + Rodgort, even if slightly less spammable. The former will net you 219 damage + 9 seconds of burning for 15e, while the later will net you 184 damage + 4-6 seconds of burning for 35e. Which makes Glowing Gaze more than enough, so you don't have to waste an elite for that. The biggest problem is the exhaustion level, but if Invoke+Gale is doable, I don't see how Mind Burn is not. You are right that Mind Burn -> Liquid Flame/Fireball is a larger spike. But Liquid Flame is on a long recharge and fireball is possible to dodge. Immolate is on a very low recharge for it's damage as well as rodgorts, that's the reason they are run with mind blast, to be spammed for big constant damage. Not sure about invoke since it's change but Air ele's have different roles because they bring armor penetration and more utility (KD/blind spam/weakness etc). Frostels 08:41, 16 March 2012 (UTC)

Beta tests nowadays are far more like demo's. I've seen very little actual bugs in the game, just connection/stability issues which is acceptable in a beta. If you don't expect the odd DC is a beta then you are a fool. For a ton of people the game was unplayable, for even MORE people they can't even connect to the game. A beta test is for testing gameplay bugs, not server stability. They fucked up and won't admit it. (Source:I've played well over 30 p2p and f2p betas to know this shit.) Another issue is the beta events are only 2 days at a time, that's nowhere near enough time to work out the major bugs. Forsaken World was in open beta for a good 3-4 months before they moved it to release. Sad thing is that it was pretty well done and didn't have many bugs (I'm talking about the chinese release, not the translated release in NA). Arenanet, pretty much said "pay us now, it'll be great" and then whipped out it's mighty cock and slapped it's entire fanbase in one fell blow.

Hmm, I've played on Friday and Saturday and soon Sunday, so that's actually three days. :> . They also have a perma group of players dedicated to play out of BWEs, so they can fix bugs out of these events. The BWE is pretty much meant for the drones to play and stumble upon bugs. Also, server crashes are inevitable when you have a fan/player base this large. I'm sure they're happy to see such a large turnout. They'll fix those major bugs. My point is other companies don't charge the drones to fix bugs for them, and Anet charged a great deal of people and then dropped the ball on server support even though they ran their shitty stress test. I have no problem staying connected to the game, my problems are A. Nearly impossible to group with friends due to randomized overflow maps, B.Instances lag the fuck out, like 15000 ms ping. I have a flawless connection outside of them.

Big, I fucking wrecked pvp. Thiefs are so broken, you can tank an entire enemy team with signet of malice + blade storm. Top that off with a pure condition damage build and bleed/poison spam and you can decimate the enemy in about 10 seconds. I wish they were that good in pve tbh.

Well, he was originally banned for three months because he was singlehandedly creating pages upon pages of drama, and everbody got fed up with it. For pretty much the entire duration of those 3 months he was banned, he socked as Soi Sticker, which pretty much everybody knew, but the admins couldn't prove it because he was proxying (thus the ridiculous amount of IP's). That is, they couldn't prove it until Minion's block ran out and he was stupid enough to stop proxying (or at least I'm guessing that's what happened). So they had evidence he had avoided his entire ban, and in response perma'd his sock and banned him for a year. Then, after he repeatedly tried to avoid the last ban, it was changed to a perma.
