The community has decided this build is in the current metagame and deserves to be stored. It has not yet received a rating through the PvXwiki vetting system.

This build has been designed for the following use:

Use interrupts to ensure that Wastrel's Demise and Worry do huge amounts of armor-ignoring damage.


  • Seen in GvG as a replacement for normal domination mesmers in some split builds, or as a counter to elementalist-heavy builds such as split.
  • Common in Random Arenas.

Attributes and Skills

Template code


  • Dash Dash, Power Drain Power Drain, Drain Enchantment Drain Enchantment, or Wastrel's Worry Wastrel's Worry, depending on team build/character's role in it, can be replaced with:
    • Resurrection Signet Resurrection Signet in RA or in builds already lacking in resurrection skills
    • Death Pact Signet Death Pact Signet in builds where the Mesmer is not expected to be away from main team and no other characters are equipped to bring it
    • Backfire Backfire in builds where the Mesmer is designed to be around to kill a solo monk

  • Spear of Defense, +5 energy or 10% recharge or 10% cast time

  • Inspiration Focus of Aptitude, 20% recharge
  • Domination Wand of Memory, 20% cast time

  • Fast Casting Focus of Fortitude, +15/-1 energy


  • Use Wastrel's skills on knocked-down targets for spike assist.
  • When 8v8, camp midline casters (dom mesmers/eles with strippable Attunements, in particular).
  • Interrupt eles when defending splits.
  • Interrupt characters after you put Wastrel's on them. Do not blow 10 energy on casting both on characters that have an uninterruptible skill available to end them.
