  • anti knockdown skills or natural aptitude(titans)
  • frontline hero/player not able to make it to melee(crippled, frozen...). It will reduce quite a lot the damages.
  • Hole in the defensive system (An interval without defensive shouts or shelter).


  • Before engaging, make sure team members cought up to you.
  • If most of the foes are caster type, target a tactical foe (healer or heavy spiker), ideally a slow caster so PI mesmer can shutdown the whole team and give you time to close the gap. call target and rush in. If you are melee type, make sure to not overextend from the protective spirits.
  • if most of the foes are melees, focus on protecting your backline.
