  • Signet of Distraction Signet of Distraction – interruption and disabling of key spells.
  • Purge Signet Purge Signet – hex/condition removal. Use in your low energy set to avoid the energy loss.

Usage

  • Maintain all three enchantments permanently, covering Symbolic Celerity with Vigorous Spirit and Protective Spirit.
  • Follow spikes with Signet of Mystic Wrath followed by Unnatural Signet.
  • Recharge your spike skills with Keystone Signet.
    • You can do this to increase the spike frequency.
    • Alternatively you can finish low targets with a follow-up spike if they are unprotected.

Tactics

Playing this team

Game Plan

Perform frequent spikes, which are especially powerful against monks due to the flux. Build up death penalty on a few targets for easier spikes and eventually building 60 death penalty on them. This will either allow you to finish the game or getting a huge advantage for the lategame phase.
8v8

  • Perform frequent spikes.
    • Keystone Signet can be used to spike more frequently or to perform two spikes on the same target in succession if it remains unprotected.
    • The AoE damage of keystone signet can be used against teams blocking a narrow area or balling in general.
    • Keep in mind that Signet of Mystic Wrath deals +30% damage against monks due to Amateur Hour. Ideally you 60 one of their monks and kill their hard resurrection.

Flag

  • Run on one of your monks.
  • If necessary, pull back and push forth with your entire team.

Split

  • Depending on what they send to your base, respond with one to three monks.
  • Consider performing a full collapse using "Incoming!" (PvP) and "Fall Back!" (PvP) as soon as their split is deep in your base. Due to the snare on your runner and the IMS of your main team you should be able to catch splits easily.
  • If the combat situation is not too stretched out, restore the 8v8 situation by merging split defense and spike team.

Lategame

  • Try to kill the opposing team's monks with all your damage characters to finish their guild lord.
  • Defend your base with all monks, if necessary.

Playing against this team

8v8 Situations

  • Complicate Signet of Mystic Wrath.
  • Disenchant mesmers.
  • If available, use anti-physical skills on the caller.

Flag

  • If you simultaneously run flags and split the A/P spike can't easily react.

Split

  • Split a lot. This team can't send back damage, so a single Healing Breeze on a split elementalist may allow damage characters like dervishes to survive.
  • Make sure to be able to run out of either side of the base in case of a full collapse.

Lategame

  • Send all of your damage to the opposing base and try to keep all your monks together against the spike. If you have a mesmer or ranger which can disable signets, keep it with your monks.
