Optional.jpg Optional 1
  • Arcane Echo Arcane Echo - default.
  • Ebon Battle Standard of Honor Ebon Battle Standard of Honor - more damage for EVAS and spears.
  • Ebon Battle Standard of Wisdom Ebon Battle Standard of Wisdom - if no A/N.
  • Wastrel's Demise Wastrel's Demise - more damage, but don't annoy A/N by getting Barbs shattered.
Optional.jpg Optional 2
  • Ebon Escape Ebon Escape - default.
  • Death's Retreat Death's Retreat - if you brought a pve skill in the first optional.

Equipment

  • Infiltrator or Blessed Insignias
  • Caster Spear and +10 Vs Fire Damage or Piercing.

Usage

  • Once the MT/Barbs pings a target hit "T" and blow the target up.
  • If you are the player with a standard, use it before you spike. At Rragar put the standard in range of him so that the summons get buffs too.

Counters

  • Not maintaining Shadow Form - especially near to Charr Shadowblades, whose Daze and Savage Slash can prove problematic.
  • Fail tanks letting Fleshreaver Hounds walk over the team/Not killing the Fleshreaver Hound fast enough.
  • EVAS getting AoE cast on it while standing near to the team
  • No target communication
  • Getting lost

Walkthrough

  • Get the quest Veiled Threat from Gron Fierceclaw (merchant) in Doomlore Shrine.
  • Exit into Dalada Uplands, taking the shortest route to Grothmar Wardowns.
  • Hug the left wall to get past the Mantid and proceed South to Sacnoth Valley.
  • Get the entire team to run South to the entrance to Rragar's Menagerie. Consider using alcohol to grant immunity to knock downs from the Earth Elementals and Grawl.
  • Use a BU on each level of the dungeon.
Level 1
Level 1
  • Someone grabs a keg from the Powder Keg Station & the team runs to the first cracked wall and destroys it using the keg.
  • Run through to the next Powder Keg Station and "keg farm" the Shadow Blades (this is recommended to stop Charr following) by standing at the Powder Keg Station and quickly picking up and dropping kegs. Continue into the next room and go to the left wall + use Arcane Echo
    • Elementalist Teleport in, place both Wards in the middle of the Charr group, team spikes.
    • Necromancer Place Wisdom, then ping barbs on the Prophet, team spikes.
  • Once the Warden's group is down run through the now open gate to Rragar, stand at the bottom of the cliff face to the right of Rragar.
    • Elementalist Pull the melee Charr away from Rragar, group spikes Rragar with EVAS.
    • Necromancer Place Wisdom below the cliff, ping Weaken Armor on Rragar, team spikes with EVAS.
  • Retrieve the key then run to the gate.
Level 2
Level 2
  • Run to Rragar, and attempt to lose the aggro of Charr Shadow Blades by using Ebon Escape on the furthest ahead ally.
  • Go to the left-hand cliff face and use Arcane Echo.
    • Elementalist Teleport in, placing the melee Charr on top of Rragar, then team spikes Rragar with EVAS.
    • Necromancer Place Wisdom at the cliff face, ping Weaken Armor on Rragar, team spikes with EVAS.
  • Retrieve the key then run to the gate.
Level 3
Level 3
  • Follow the left path until the cracked wall
  • Pull the melee foes coming from behind the wall (which crumbles as you approach) to the Powder Keg Station, and blow them up.
  • The team now runs past the remaining enemies into the cave where Fleshreaver resides. Go left and stand behind the protruding wall so that they won't get hit by the powerful paragons.
(You will need to kill the Fleshreaver Hound first, don't let him anywhere near main team, He does massive amounts of holy AoE Damage and when he dies the Fleshreaver will blow his corpse up for 100-300 damage!)
The Spikers should heal the Barbs if their health gets really low.
    • Elementalist Main tank will run into the chamber and pull all of the foes back towards main team, team spikes with Chaos Storm only.
    • Necromancer Pull group with Charr in it, team spikes them. Then pull the Fleshreaver mob, kill the Hound first then everything else.
  • When they're all dead retrieve the key from the back room where Fleshreaver was and make your way North to Rragar.
  • Team waits behind the pillar.
    • Elementalist Run in and place both wards, then the team spikes Rragar (do not stand close to Rragar as if he uses either Energy Surge on the Ebon summons, or Shatter Hex, then it will hit for about 200).
    • Necromancer Place Wisdom and pull Rragar and hide behind the pillar. Ping Weaken Armor on Rragar, team spikes with EVAS.
  • After killing Rragar, body-block Hidesplitter and spike him with Chaos Storm, EVAS and dagger attacks.

Notes

  • You can beat the 3rd level of Rragars in 5-10 minutes or 15-20 minutes depending on the experience of your MT/Barbs.
  • Since Rragar's Shatter Hex deals 300 damage, without a reasonably high Ebon Vanguard title rank, the EVAS will die very quickly.
