On a second thought I'm not sure if merging these is the right idea. With boss farm pages it makes more sense since they share a common theme and tailoring a part of the bar to the encounter is easy to do since these farms take a minure or two usually. Merging FoW, UW and dungeon farmer builds into one, each with their own lengthy routes and tactics with 3-5 skills that can change could make this page a bit too convoluted. It'd be similar to merging the HA, RA, and JQ Word of Healing bars except much worse. And that's just the harder farms, there are about a dozen others a VoS bar could farm. Maybe it'd be better not to merge them, and keep this new page for all the other areas a VoS bar can farm. --DefinitelyNotHanz (talk) 14:01, 18 June 2019 (UTC)

I think that it's worth to keep trying to make this happen. It's a draft, we can experiment with it. What do you think about collapsed tables for the very lengthy farms I added in the last change? --Krschkr (talk) 10:17, 19 June 2019 (UTC)
Definitely better than it used to be. I'll work in it a bit more when I have more time later this week and see how it turns out. --DefinitelyNotHanz (talk) 14:45, 19 June 2019 (UTC)
I'd argue that counters, notes and videos is more useful if they belong to each seperate farm instead of 1 combined counters, notes and videos for every farm. It looks pretty good atm btw ZStepmother (talk) 15:40, 19 June 2019 (UTC)
I think that at least counters should be a general section. If one of them shows up in a farming location, utility skills are picked accordingly to make the farm work nonetheless and the usage instructs users how to deal with the counter. Or, if the counters are too hard in a certain area, players know that they won't have much success with trying the farming build over there. Especially if the collapsed table approach is taken for the specific farming areas moving videos into the respective area section probably wouldn't hurt, just help to keep things that belong together in one place. (And they could be tucked to the right since we're already within table formatting.) No opinion about notes yet – let's first see what they'll be. --Krschkr (talk) 15:41, 20 June 2019 (UTC)
Removed the notes section until somebody comes up with any to add. See also features the escape ranger because it does the same thing as this build, just against pure physical groups. Videos from the current pages have been added. What else could we improve? Some more uniformity in the farming locations section would be good, but I personally already prefer the merge proposal over the existing pages. --Krschkr (talk) 01:47, 25 July 2019 (UTC)
So there are no further ideas for immediate improvement. Does anyone oppose the merge? --Krschkr (talk) 23:09, 3 August 2019 (UTC)

Build:D/any Focus of Hanaku Farm[]

Any special reason why the merge draft isn't targeting this page? --Krschkr (talk) 15:42, 20 June 2019 (UTC)

Added it to the list. --Krschkr (talk) 00:02, 25 June 2019 (UTC)

Move to "Great"[]

This page has 2 votes now, no reason it is in testing. I moved it to Great, it should've been there from the start anyway ZStepmother (talk) 10:30, 9 January 2020 (UTC)

Putting this into testing until it received the required votes was the right thing to do, it shouldn't have been in a different category from the start. The exercise of changing the real-vetting tag once the required amount of votes is reached or a vote changes the build category is within the responsibility of the user who submitted the decisive vote – in this case that was you anyway. --Krschkr (talk) 01:39, 10 January 2020 (UTC)
It was a combination of several builds which were already well known, tested and rated builds (except for the Diessa one, which was in testing for some reason), so yeah, it should've been in Great. ZStepmother (talk) 17:17, 11 January 2020 (UTC)

Forest Farming and FoW build(s?)[]

Tried to clean the FoW variantbar a little, removing old oddities. As of now the bar is geared toward a fullrun (which is easily possible with cons) but some FoW places can be farmed with a specific build, with multiple possible variants separating those builds from that mainbar. I'm joking but this is a "variantbars inside a variantbar" situation, if you know what I mean. I settled for separating the "Farming places" into small subsections for added clarity + a little "Notes" section. Maybe we'll need minibars for each subsection. Anyway feel free to add more information, edit or remove if you want.

About the Forest, since the change to the Spirit Shepherds' AI the old Ranger builds and the Assassin/Mesmer build are not really usable anymore. With the Shards being at 7k each, farming them becomes very profitable. If wanting to farm the forest in 2021, the Vow of Silence Dervish is the greatest option, with an extremely fast and safe running phase (2 minutes to the back entrance!) and some very satisfying performance with Asuran Scan. On average, one run will give you multiple shards, making this worth it.

Preferred optionals are "I Am Unstoppable!" (against Rock Borer Worms), Victorious Sweep for maximum safety, "You Move Like a Dwarf!" against single targets and Featherfoot Grace for running. Overall, the build is fun, and extremely safe when tailored for the Forest. Feydslynox (talk) 23:43, 15 November 2021 (UTC)

Pious Fury[]

Why Pious Fury instead of Heart of Fury? What are the advantages? Is it so that Vow of Piety can be renewed while moving from place to place? Cutelethalpuppy (talk) 17:06, 25 November 2021 (UTC)

Firebrand Farming[]

Now this is some freaking serious business here. Firebrand is ~10a and the Mini Peacekeeper Enforcer is ~30a so the potential gains here are insane. First, this build was created by Peter Kadar ([1]) and is posted here with his authorization ([2]). All credit goes to him.

I agree with him that the Cursed Lands spot is probably the better one for this kind of farm, and the Dervish Vow of Silence works perfectly here. It's actually a very easy farm, even if you have no real farming experience you could easily do it. Just be prepared to do a few hundred runs before dropping anything. I also suspect that the Firebrand's value will tank because of this, but such is life. Anyway I'm excited, let's do it ! ^_^ Feydslynox (talk) 08:01, 4 December 2021 (UTC)

Phew, for the record I just got a Firebrand after 1344 runs. What a grind ! Feydslynox (talk) 07:25, 21 December 2021 (UTC)

UW Chaos Planes Build[]

I've been playing around with some tweaks on the UW Planes build, and have had good success with my changes. I removed Aura Slicer and Reap Impurities, and inserted Chilling Victory and Burning Speed, with some point distribution into Fire Magic. Imo, it decreases the kill time of Mindblades.

I can reply to this tomorrow with skill bar, attribute distribution, and usage order / conditions. I may even record video of it, if someone has interest in it. Mobius1386 (talk) 05:09, 4 July 2023 (UTC)

Always interested in either new farming builds or new variations on existing ones (and I'm sure others are too !). If after testing you find a better (faster/safer) way to farm something feel free to edit the build pages, and videos are always appreciated.
Also if you have experience with some particular builds here on PvX, don't forget to vote on them ! The more votes, the better =) Feydslynox (talk) 06:40, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
Here is the skill bar that I'm testing out
The energy cost of Dervish enchantments is reduced by 48%.
In PvE, gain +12 armor rating while enchanted.

Basically, here's how it works. Once you have a group of Mindblades balled, and you're casting a fresh [Signet of Mystic Speed], you'll use skills in this order:
[Grenth's Aura] -> [Burning Speed] -> (1/8s delay) -> [Vow of Silence]. Spam IAS stance and [Chilling Victory].
A Mindblade may have gotten you with [Ignorance], but it does not matter, as you'll have one use of SoMS remaining for your next skill rotation, which will be ONLY [Grenth's Aura] -> [Vow of Silence], to maintain VoS.
Simply put, you'll be using [Burning Speed] in the rotation any time that you've applied a fresh [Signet of Mystic Speed]. In my personal opinion, the 5s of Burning makes the Mindblade killing much faster. Please note: You NEVER want to use [Burning Speed] when fighting a Banished Dream Rider. Its purpose is ONLY for speeding up the kill time of Mindblades. Is anyone able to also test this out and give me some feedback on what you think of the kill speed? Mobius1386 (talk) 16:08, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
Adding a video would indeed be great. But if you're able to record video material in the first place, wouldn't it be easiest to record one run with the currently featured build, one with your adaption and post your clearing times here on the talk page? Then we have a comparison and other people know which clearing times they'd have to test against if they wanted to verify your results. --Krschkr (talk) 17:07, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
Sure, I suppose I could do that. The clear times of Chaos Planes varies wildly for me, as there's times I have to step away from the game for phone calls or something (I have an on-call job). But the most logical way to go about comparing the times would be the amount of time it takes to clear the final group of 9 Mindblades. There are obviously many groups you can end up with, so I can average it out per build, and then we will have actual comparison numbers. I'll work on that today. :) Mobius1386 (talk) 19:05, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
Well, scratch this idea. Turns out that Aura Slicer + Reap Impurities is actually faster, by about 10 seconds for a 9-Mindblade group. I was averaging around 55s kill time with Aura Slicer + Reap Impurities. Mobius1386 (talk) 00:30, 5 July 2023 (UTC)
