Roll with honour. --Frosty Frostcharge 17:24, January 13, 2010 (UTC)

dont we have one of these? if not could you say which classes split with which? more usage would be nice.--Bluetapeboy 21:42, January 13, 2010 (UTC)
Hence the trial tag, it isn't a dedicated split, but all of the chars have splitability (hence for example Sprint on the cripslash). --Frosty Frostcharge 22:26, January 13, 2010 (UTC)
run trip war with a smiter instead of the moi. thats what i play at least --Angelus 22:30, January 13, 2010 (UTC)
a better reason to not run it then to run it. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Gringo (talk • contribs) (UTC). 22:40, January 13, 2010 (UTC)
i like the addition of the smiter to the trip war build --Angelus 22:41, January 13, 2010 (UTC)
so you have more stand pressure but will definetely lose to any split build... --Frosty Frostcharge 22:43, January 13, 2010 (UTC)
sending a cripshot, axe, and flagger isn't enough? zzz. two warriors can do some good damage at main team with the smiter keeping perma scourge and being able to keep warriors clean. and another warrior and a ranger and a flagger is enough to collapse on a split. --Angelus 22:47, January 13, 2010 (UTC)
If you are sending your flagger, you will inevitabely have a warrior running the flag, which means in your scenario you would have a warrior and a smiter at the stand which won't do shit, MoI is fucking rediculous stand spike support as well as defence, and when it comes to pushing, falling back, etc in this massive split meta it's essential. --Frosty Frostcharge 22:52, January 13, 2010 (UTC)
depending on how much they push their split, you may not even have to send a warrior and ranger. usually a ranger and flagger and deal with shit just fine depending on if theyre running gay me/mo split. --Angelus 22:57, January 13, 2010 (UTC)
It doesn't matter how much they push their split, MoI in this meta > a smiter hands down. --Frosty Frostcharge 23:00, January 13, 2010 (UTC)
bleh w/e. ill keep running my smiter and winning. --Angelus 23:05, January 13, 2010 (UTC)

But anyway, back on topic. I like trip warrior and it works well --Angelus 00:28, January 14, 2010 (UTC)

if the point was fun no one would play guild wars at all. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Gringo (talk • contribs) (UTC). 01:42, January 14, 2010 (UTC)

i like the consept. but i htink monks should go HA backline. idk im not a big gvger and i think ele should go Prism. glyph isnt guna do it all plus u could have deep freeze or somethin if u really want a snare-

you should stick to HA then, because your suggestions wont be viable in gvg. --Angelus 06:01, January 17, 2010 (UTC)
With suggestions like those he should stick to pve.--TahiriVeila 07:25, January 17, 2010 (UTC)

d, most trip wars i've been seeing run either two axe + sword, or axe/hammer sword. Usually with cripshot + LoD/MeE/ERt in the midline--TahiriVeila 16:12, February 5, 2010 (UTC)

see you niggers, i said add a smiter originally. --Angelus 15:13, February 6, 2010 (UTC)

Only reason for the smiter is because there is like no split play in laddar atm and cripshot puff means you can drop a me/e or e/rt for a smite. lp --Frosty Frostcharge 15:14, February 6, 2010 (UTC)
thanks captain obvious. could have ran cripshot before the buff anyway though --Angelus 15:16, February 6, 2010 (UTC)
Yea but now cripshot can pretty much perma snare somebody since it's practically undodgable, meaning you don't need that snare ele/mesmer, also, not much splitting happening... --Frosty Frostcharge 15:19, February 6, 2010 (UTC)
good meta ^_______^ --Angelus 15:21, February 6, 2010 (UTC)
Maybe not in ladder play, but ATs still see a fair amount of split ( which is why you're seeing not a lot of lod smite and a LOT of dom mes/ert still)--TahiriVeila 16:28, February 6, 2010 (UTC)
*takes out obvious journal to learn*. Gringo 18:34, February 6, 2010 (UTC)
do u think that pr will still be used even after its 4 adren nerf? i think it might still be a decent skill if not well shock axe and whirling still work. Trapping Moons Love 17:36, February 23, 2010 (UTC)
Won't be worth since it'll be up halftime at best, more often less b/c you'll have to cancel. Evisc + whirling for axes most like.--TahiriVeila 19:15, February 23, 2010 (UTC)
i want to give it a shot with the adrenaline, but yeah im pretty sure evis whirling will become the new meta, probably evis>whirling because of the bigger dmg. but pr seems like it is still worth giving it a shot anyways. Trapping Moons Love 20:44, February 23, 2010 (UTC)
you cant build the adrenaline until the 15s is up, so its 15s + 4 hits to recharge, its gonna be badbad. Gringo 20:50, February 23, 2010 (UTC)

Just make it optional midline tbh, I only obs'd 2 of their games, 1 was bsurge 1 was MoI and both rolled the other team in like 10 mins or something. Theres plenty of midliners that would work, but yeah, unarchive. --Steamy..x 16:22, May 26, 2010 (UTC)
its quite good for this meta, you should make it with bsurge as main, and MoI as backup for splitty maps (frozen) Gringo 16:52, May 26, 2010 (UTC)

optional[]

the midline caster role should be open. you could have a mo/n smiter, moi (less common in trip warrior but still), OoB barbed signet life siphon necro, or bsurge. theres reallya LOT of midline caster options. discuss --Angelus 23:13, June 28, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah the Mo/N smiter was run by at least 2 different guilds today. [ace] beat [GoLd] with it ([GoLd] was running lolnecroes but still). Also, mesmer works too. Rikk Panda {a.k.a. Benny Lava} They're On Fire Panda 04:09, June 30, 2010 (UTC)
You can run w/e you want. I just listed the oob bar b/c it's most common and usually the most effective (unless you know you're going up against the same build with a necro). Go ahead and list smiter if you want idrc--TahiriVeila 06:36, July 1, 2010 (UTC)
Might as well minibar a magebane variant too. And added equip/usages. Cheers--TahiriVeila 06:37, July 1, 2010 (UTC)

Too wiki illiterate to know when to just add a build-variant option and when to open a new build page though. I'll leave this to the experts. Run by [word] on Burning over [MBP] for a win. Why settle for DW just on spike? 72.148.243.147 04:40, August 9, 2010 (UTC)

I'd like to add another frontline template as a variant, but since it can go in place of any of the three melees, what would be the best place to put it? Listing it as a variant of all three melee slots seems redundant. --Lemming 21:07, September 8, 2010 (UTC)

I'd say just list it after the third melee bar with a title along the lines of "Optionalo Frontliner" and make it clear that it can be used to replace any of the three wars.--TahiriVeila 22:44, September 8, 2010 (UTC)

Most of the time this is run with an Assault Sin over the Shock Axe, and the blood bar can be different but I don't really pay attention to the blood bars, all i know is angorodons is now v viable. Frostels 00:26, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

I'll do it later this week. --Lemming 00:36, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

Every GvG build should have either SC or Shackles right? Do some builds need a specific one? ie I could imagine a split build would rather have shackles or something along those lines. Frostels 11:48, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
Yeah SC and shackles are the meta builds. We should unarchive spirit lord and xinraes though, they're both great builds even if they're not really meta.--TahiriVeila 17:25, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

That MoR mesmer should only be a variant to the standard blood necro. --Lemming 18:06, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

Archive as triple dervish[]

Insult to meta[]

This build has too many problems to name. For one, trip melee is supposed to thrive off of a strong melee. Dervishes don't have the AL to withstand any decent spike. A single decent mesmer has a plethora of options when it comes to shutting down this frontline. -Edenial will simply render the frontline useless. -AoB defines this build; tab, rupt, tab... -EDA? Give me a break, the attacks will be rendered useless with some enchantment stripping. The conditions they spread won't be of much offense when the energy pool drains after a rip or two. HOWEVER, I've seen moderate success running one of these alongside a magehunter. It's not so much as these Dervishes lack everything in one area, moreso the fact that they're just lacking a bit in everything. Decent split material.

You're awful and pretty much wrong about everything. These particular builds have fallen out of use since te last update, but befor ehten they were the primary options. Stop being fucking terrible--TahiriVeila 05:26, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
Okay, so assault my post and then my talk. Unfortunately, nothing you've posted yet has provided any sort of rebuttal to my argument. Just typical "you're wrong" shit talking. Please close your browser DarkNe7h 05:49, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

updates[]

  • some degree of frontline variety? Maybe pick 3 out of all the possible bars?
  • haven't seen the MoR mesmer in forever. Replace that minibar with a mel's resil split mesmer, unless you really think that it's a distinct enough build to merit different treatment. (This obviously doesn't account for split mes/blood nec midline; list that in the variants maybe.) --Lemming 07:22, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
Who runs the mels resil version anymore? The crip anguish/PI bar is wayyyy more versatile imho.--TahiriVeila 16:06, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
Lem is right. The GoR Mesmer is too sparely run, even before the tweaks to both Dervish and Fragility; I've seen the Mel's Mesmer, but I've been wary to make changes on any builds before the meta firms up. Even trying to get a mainbar for how AoB is actually run would only leave about 4 skills on the bar. Aonsephonie 16:40, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

Fevered dreams[]

Should be mainbar imho. Saw it much more while playing thise weekend than nec. It does stupid pressure.--TahiriVeila 05:33, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

I'm still not convinced that it'll stabilize as the most common 3 melee variant. --Lemming 08:14, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

Updating[]

After the last month fevered has become pretty much cemented as mainbar while the hammer warrior is only run as a variant. I'm going to mainbar a third dervish and the fevered bar while listing the hammer and necro as variants.--TahiriVeila 01:07, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

Go ahead. I haven't had as much time to obs, so I can't necessarily confirm, but I remember Fevered Dreams/Fragility being just as viable. Aonsephonie 00:33, 30 June 2011 (UTC)

This needs more updating, but I haven't been on GW often enough to obs it properly. Somebody do this.--TahiriVeila 14:50, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
