Hi, is there a place where we could discuss something in private? Discord for example? --DefinitelyNotHanz (talk) 14:22, 7 February 2017 (UTC)

I have discord, username: Toraen#2819. Toraen (talk) 17:04, 7 February 2017 (UTC)

Thank you

Thank you Toraen. I am new to PvX so am still learning some things. I will probably have questions for you in the future. --Anzac21

R.I.P. thumbnails

Every thumbnail skill of Template:Skill_pvxicon or anything else, show this error: "Error creating thumbnail: File missing". Making every build impossible to read :( Rukko (talk) 10:50, 24 October 2017 (UTC)

I've submitted a ticket, so hopefully it gets looked at soon. Seems the entire File: Namespace failed to migrate. Toraen (talk) 12:50, 24 October 2017 (UTC)

Can I ask a question?

Hello Toraen, thank you for your comments and help on the builds I have submitted. I think my Decapitate build is ready for vetting... should I just change the tag?--Saxazaxx (talk) 20:55, 8 April 2018 (UTC)

Yeah you can change the tag whenever the build's ready. There's no set time or approval required for a build to leave trial. Toraen (talk) 10:36, 9 April 2018 (UTC)
How do I unwatch this page?-- Saxazaxx - IGN: Saxazax I (capital i) or Saxazax I I - (talk) 18:20, 12 May 2018 (UTC)
There's a star next to the 'More' tab at the top of the page. Click it to toggle whether it's on your watchlist. Toraen (talk) 18:47, 12 May 2018 (UTC)

  • Hey again, I wanted to know if we could make a section in PvE for Solo guides.--Saxazaxx (talk) 23:05, 16 October 2018 (UTC)
I can't speak for Toraen, but given his recent absence – there are plenty of solo builds/guides in PvX which are stored in the running category. If you'd like to post a new solo build/guide (i.e. for the deep) you can safely put it there. --Krschkr (talk) 09:26, 17 October 2018 (UTC)

Farming project question(s)

Hey, I'll probably have more questions further down the line, but for now I just want to ask- are you planning on categorising AFK farms at all in the farming section, and if so, are they going to have their own section or are they just going to go among the others? NapalmFlame (talk) 08:11, 10 May 2018 (UTC)

Unless there's a lot of AFK builds, I don't really see the need. The build names indicate whether they're AFK farms or not. Toraen (talk) 17:53, 12 May 2018 (UTC)

strange vetting system

it seems you and another person did the exact same rating with same comment. Seems quite odd. Also, there is a mesmer PI and there is a hammer player build in this teambuild despite what you wrote. I don't mind this teambuild being deleted but at least do it for the right reasons. thx The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jilnor (talk • contribs) 04:00, 27 June, 2018 (UTC).

1) If you like or dislike a build for the same reasons as someone else, then it's fine to copy their reasons. 2) Just because you can bring extra KDs on the player bar does not make bringing melee heroes or SoJ good.Kaizerfreak (talk) 03:32, 28 June 2018 (UTC)

Basically the melee heroes are unneeded to accomplish knocklocks and have poor damage output in practice. Melee AI leaves much to be desired and they won't use their knockdowns very intelligently. You'd have a stronger build by replacing them and using caster-based AoE knockdowns exclusively (such as PI, which by itself can keep an entire group on the ground almost half the time). If your player build is capable of chaining AoE knockdowns, the melee heroes are doing nothing of note and you might as well just bring more damage there. If you still want to use melee heroes to utilize the orders, faster attacking ones (assassins) or builds with more AoE (dervishes) would be better and they are also simpler classes for the AI to play. Dervish heroes in particular can often be survivable while still contributing decent DPS through buffs.

I do prefer when other people come up with their own reasoning for their ratings, but it's not policy that they have to. -Toraen (talk) 10:49, 28 June 2018 (UTC)

So I don't forget this

Someone PM'd me this in-game while AFK and possibly maybe we can actually get our gwbbcode revamped: https://smiley.codes/gwbbcode/ -Toraen (talk) 23:24, 31 July 2018 (UTC)

Oh look, it's my new GWBBCoder - feel free to ping me for help. The project page is over here on GitHub: https://github.com/codemasher/gw1-database/tree/master/src/GWBBCode --Smiley (talk) 15:55, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
This someone who pmed you should've said who he is, but I have it on good authority that he's a fool who doesn't know the very basics of leaving afk people a message. *whistle* --Krschkr (talk)

Hello there

Been a while (10 years?) since I voted on any builds here, and I was wondering what each category of the votes mean now. A long time ago I was asked to remove a vote on a build because I didn't vote correctly on the "innovation" section. So yeah, would you mind directing me to the area of where I can read what the vote categories mean? Thanks. Iamjackslongassname 20:16, 1 September 2018 (UTC)

I feel so silly now, I overlooked in the policy section what I was looking for. Thanks anyway, :) Iamjackslongassname 20:19, 1 September 2018 (UTC)
The good part is that innovation doesn't matter anymore for the rating, so no one will be removing votes for that reason. Any other questions about any of the policies, feel free to ask. I'm aware that we have a little bit of bloat in that regard and some people like a quick summary. -Toraen (talk) 10:15, 2 September 2018 (UTC)

Admin opinion request

I'd like to have an admin opinion on this. --Krschkr (talk) 12:02, 9 September 2018 (UTC)

Well, Shade can either move it to userspace or let it get deleted. It certainly doesn't belong in the build space. -Toraen (talk) 12:55, 9 September 2018 (UTC)

Old VoS build ratings

Build:D/any Vow of Strength. Looks like you removed a good amount of sock puppet votes years ago (Vorpal's?) – but there still are two more undeleted votes of the 94. IP. Have they been left intentionally or did they just slip through? --Krschkr (talk) 22:33, 12 December 2018 (UTC)

Those were removed before the bug that removed the usernames on some inactive accounts (thus leaving an IP displayed, but it's not the user's IP - it's actually the IP of the person viewing the page so I see it beginning in 100, not 94). Not all of them were Vorpal socks. -Toraen (talk) 22:39, 12 December 2018 (UTC)
Alright. I already expected that something odd was going on so it'd be better to ask before removing anything. With all these errors we can probably be glad that the entire rating system isn't spontaneously deleting itself. --Krschkr (talk) 22:46, 12 December 2018 (UTC)

It's not fair to say that I am inactive

I am just really not very active. In any case, I don't need CheckUser, but I'm not convinced anyone really does any more as sock voting is probably not really an issue any more. A new misery 20:49, 20 December 2018 (UTC)

All valid points, I just figured anyone who still cared would correct me. Sock voting is only theoretically a concern right now but I'd also rather not have the tool taken away wholesale. -Toraen (talk) 14:23, 23 December 2018 (UTC)

Bot account

Alright, I made the account User:Krschkr bot and created a bot password for it. I guess you'll have to assign the user group bot to it and provide me with the scripts to automate its edits. I currently don't have access to my discord, so it'd be easiest to do this via mail. --Krschkr (talk) 21:27, 2 May 2019 (UTC)

Email sent and your bot is promoted. -Toraen (talk) 10:57, 3 May 2019 (UTC)

It appears

That I am succumbing to some sort of sickness. I may be a bit less useful than I planned on being this week. -Toraen (talk) 20:29, 29 May 2019 (UTC)

Twitch accounts

So they killed all the old accounts again? Not even sure how to get into User:Malokai92 now. Maybe have a Twitch account with the same email address lol.--Shadowrelic (talk) 23:46, 2 June 2019 (UTC)

Try going to [1] and see if you can reclaim from there. If not you could try filing a ticket. They're actually pretty fast to respond. -Toraen (talk) 23:55, 2 June 2019 (UTC)
Got one in, let's see what happens.--Shadowrelic (talk) 02:36, 5 June 2019 (UTC)

Search Error

A while ago I noticed that certain search results bring up an error page (if going far enough in the search results). There seems to be an issue with a database entry _Dungeon_Hero-Henchmen_Team_Builds – do you have an idea what is causing this and how it could be fixed? It affects results for the search key words dungeon, hero, henchmen, team and builds. --Krschkr (talk) 01:05, 11 June 2019 (UTC)

That page is a really old error with the database where a page got "fixed" in a couple categories and couldn't be removed through any wiki-side process (undeleting/recreating/re-categorizing/etc.). I've filed a new ticket since I wasn't previously aware of it affecting searches. -Toraen (talk) 05:15, 11 June 2019 (UTC)
