Shameless 5-5 on own build. Can maintain OoP while putting Barbs/MoP on the target and still have time to cast an additional spell, making up for weaker spells with higher buff uptime. Lack of sustain is negligible.

Revising previous vote.

Lyssa's Aura is unneeded in a BiP meta. Fast Casting on Orders makes maintaining them while still contributing in other ways much more feasible, so the PI variant is still good imo.

There is the problem of finding a team of physical players to run with (that any Orders player would face - it's likely something you'd swap to if the right PuG forms than something you'd look to do). Running orders for your phys heroes is a gimmick that can work well if you're dedicated, but not for better results than just loading your mesmerway.

Thows out barbs like candy to make up for the lower Curses spec, and still has time to maintain orders perfectly. N/D could just use SoMS, but that comes with its own problems. I think these two concepts are comparable.

Strictly speaking, it ends up being more optimal for the orders to be carrying cleaning/SoH in a phys-heavy all human team, but you're not getting a full team of human players at this point. Let your mesmer live the dream.

With my interpretation of this build I believe Toraen is spot on but deserving of 5-5.

Works surprisingly well despite lacking spawning power for a decent weapon uptime. Enchantment stripping isn't as bad as one might expect due to fast casting reducing the recharge time of Lyssa's aura by a lot, however, in areas with frequent enchantment removal it hits the build performance noticeably. You can't stay out of range of foes, after all, since you need to renew your energy management.

Since I like to play with blood is power I wasn't needing Lyssa's aura direly and tweaked the build to use psychic instability instead. This makes scattering from mark of pain a far less prominent issue.

Tested, due to lack of other players, with three assassin heroes.

Edit: Changed rating from 5/4 to 4/4 in light of the signet of illusions support bar. While this build is still effective (and the PI variant fills a relevant niche) signet of illusions beats it in many contexts regarding effectiveness, build compatibility, ease of use and reliability.
