Watchlist bug

Not sure if this is a bug with MediaWiki or what, but I have the page [[Build:Me/N Well of Illusions]] on my watchlist, and even after I visit it several times it still thinks I haven't looked at it since its last update (its still in bold). Other pages act normally. This has happened in the past, but it goes away after a while. --Wizardboy777 00:50, 14 September 2007 (CEST)

Ditto. –Ichigo724Ichigo-signature 17:07, 14 September 2007 (CEST)
Have seen that, too. Seems to be a Mediawiki thing. I think it's something like the wiki believes a page is on the watchlist but the talk page is not, or vice versa. The one that is not on the watchlist will not trigger the 'read' status. A workaround is to unwatch and watch again. Make sure that both page and talk page are watched (that should usually be the case automatically). – HHHIPPO ‹sysop› 04:06, 15 September 2007 (CEST)

Special:Statistics

There have been a total of 0 page views, and 159,288 page edits since the wiki was setup. That comes to 10.03 average edits per page, and 0.00 views per edit. <- Zero page views? Wtf? Also, the comma between 'page views, and' isn't necessary. And set up should be two words. --Wizardboy777 SigWizardboy777(T/C) 00:45, 21 October 2007 (CEST)

The Wiki engine can't see the page views since most of them are handled by Squid. We will work on that page once the more important things are done. – HHHIPPO ‹sysop› 21:34, 24 October 2007 (CEST)

Checkuser links

I don't know if this is possible, but a Checkuser link next to people's names in Recent Changes and Ratings. Like Scarymonsterclan (Talk | contribs | Checkuser)... that would be nice, it's not to hard to do it now, but sounds like if it's possible it'd be an easy code. ~~ User:Frvwfr2 frvwfr2 (T/C/Sysop) 22:34, 22 September 2007 (CEST)

Should be possible, but will take some work. I'm not sure I'd like to modify Recent Changes, since that's a core part of Media Wiki and changes will make it even more difficult to upgrade the wiki software. – HHHIPPO ‹sysop› 20:32, 3 October 2007 (CEST)

Deleting pages

I had a thought (oh o that's never a good sign...) would it be at all possiable to make it so that normal users can delete pages BUT they can only delete pages that have expired their 2 week trash period thing (basiclly been in trash longer than 2 weeks), this way it means the site can be better maintained and admins don't have to worry about doing that kind of grunt work so to speak.PheNaxKian (T/c)Tag thumb 22:55, 29 September 2007 (CEST)

Sounds good, don't know how difficult it would be to implement. Lord Belar 01:34, 28 October 2007 (CEST)
About links in the skill bars: That's a PvXcode thing, mainly gcardinal's area. I think as a quick solution putting one link on the skill icon and the other on the name should be easy. About GW: and GWW: changing the interwiki link mechanism is major surgery to the engine. Anyway, I'd like to keep the possibility for authors to decide where they want to link. What we could try is making an additional magic word like __GW__ which would then translate into GW: or GWW: depending on the reader's preferences. But I didn't look into the details yet, no idea how much work it would be. – HHHIPPO ‹sysop› 10:01, 1 November 2007 (CET)

Cool idea i think

Would it be like base DPS? I dunno how useful that might be in some builds. Shogunshen Sig Shen(contribs) 02:38, 10 December 2007 (CET)

I think that would be quite kool, but then you have to think of how to get it only on rangers/warriors/ass. etc. and not jsut casters with a wand -.-. also on the idea of adding things-equipment template code(s) maybe? would mean we don't have to just list it....i think (would have to for PvE builds i guess....)PheNaxKian (T/c)Tag thumb 21:16, 11 December 2007 (CET)

I think I've figured out how to do this. On Guildwiki, I have a short version that just inserts the actual pvxcode part, but I could probably get the whole thing in there and then put that code into MediaWiki:Common.js. Test out the short version by going to Special:Mypage/monobook.js on GuildWiki and pasting the code from mine in (you may have to clear your cache) which should add another button to the end of your editing toolbar that will add the pvxcode template in. ¬ Wizårdbõÿ777(sysop) 17:07, 16 April 2008 (EDT)

For New Players

I had no idea which section to put this, so i put it here. I think that we need a section for new players to give them specific details on how to make a build, how to put images on it, how to make links to other websites(like youtube for an example of the build) and also how to transfer web images to PVX, and lastly, how to make your homepage. When i joined(about 3 weeks ago, but ive known this website since it came out), i had trouble doing this, and i still dont know how to make pictuers, so i think that this would be helpful. Erm, not sure if anyone has noticed, but while I was setting up my competition, I noticed no A/P builds, I am certain there was a Dark Apostasy Spear build vetted on the wiki, it was in Other, but I thought it may have been archived, but not there, does anyone have any light on such an issue, of builds just dissapearing, it was similiar to this User:Saint/Build:A/P_Spear_Of_Disenchantment Frosty No U! 14:38, 18 July 2008 (EDT)

Ifeq should be working, never had problems with it. I didn't check in detail what you did, but it might be connected to using several templates calling each other, with more than one parameter each. I already asked for a searchplugin for the browser toolbar; Armond replied that it wasn't the best way to search pvx, but to stay tuned for some new feature for searching pvx (but apprently unrelated to what you and I asked for). The xml coding of a searchplugin seems trivial, but I discovered no administrative interest in it. As far as I know, all fonts are user-side only; that is, I could set the font in my sig to Times New Roman, but if I didn't have Times New Roman installed on my computer, the browser would just revert to the default font. Similarly, I could be a pro and make up my own font family that no one else has and use it for my sig; in that case, my browser would recognize and use it just fine, but everyone else's browsers wouldn't recognize it and revert to their browsers' default fonts instead. --Mafaraxas (talk) 19:33, 16 September 2008 (EDT)

As long as the people you care about have the font on their computer, it would work, and there wouldn't be any need for you to upload the font to PvX. I don't think PvX even has the capability for users to upload anything other than images. If you want to get the font to your friends, just upload the font file to a third party file sharing site, then tell your friends to download from there and copypasta into their font folder. --Mafaraxas (talk) 22:13, 16 September 2008 (EDT)

Display issues with Safari Browser

Well, I recently downloaded the new Safari browser and i like it a lot. However, there seems to be some kind of display issue with PvX. The navigation bar that is supposed to appear on the left hand side of each article is just a blank white area and the links from that are pushed down to the very bottom of the page below the white area. Could be something to do with my computer, but can someone else using safari confirm? Thanks Peter 02:58, 26 September 2008 (EDT)

Yea, the sidebar links are getting pushed down below the article body on every page. I'll look into it and see if I can change the css or something to fix it if I have time. Hhhippo might know how to fix it. ¬ Wizårdbõÿ777(sysop) 17:44, 26 September 2008 (EDT)
Nothing I've tried fixes it. It's entirely possible it's a safari bug. But if anyone else who knows some css wants to try to figure it out, here's a summary of what I tried:
  1. Reducing the width of the article body and/or sidebar just leaves a bigger gap between them.
  2. Changing the white-space:nowrap in the h4, h5, and h6's for .portlet to white-space:normal removes the big section of whitespace, and the sidebar looks normal... except that it's still shoved down below the article.
  3. Changing the border, padding, and margin for .portlet and #pBody did nothing.
I tried more than this, but I don't remember it all. Also, guildwiki, GWW, and wikipedia all look normal in Safari. ¬ Wizårdbõÿ777(sysop) 18:26, 26 September 2008 (EDT)
Confirmed, no other wikis seem to be having this issue. Peter 07:53, 27 September 2008 (EDT)
Opera, IE, Firefox, and Chrome all load the wiki fine. I'm guessing it's a rendering issue in Safari. If you want, I could try to write up a CSS that'll fix it for just you that you can put in your monobook. Cedave bad  ツ cedave (☆contributions☆) 20:24, 28 September 2008 (EDT)

Keep in mind, Chrome is still beta. You'd have to wait until it was production-state for anyone to bother submitting an aesthetic fix. Build Master Noticeboard

Since admins shouldn't really be making removals on votes that require thought into whether a vote needs to be removed, maybe a BN noticeboard could be made. If there is a vote that you feel is wrong, you could raise it on the BM noticeboard for discussion or to raise the attention of a BM. Obviously if a troll vote is made it can still be noted on the AN but for the votes that would require a BM, it could be used. Also means BM's don't have to go searching round RC and RRating to find wrong/bad votes. PvXwiki:Build_Master_noticeboard.--Frosty 13:23, 15 December 2008 (EST)

I believe around the introduction of BMs I suggested such a thing, but for whatever reason we decided not to. For instance, a few weeks back we only had 1 active BM (the others not being able to come on for various reasons). When you look at the amount of requests we get on here, a singal BM couldn't handle it all, so Admins are informed as well, and can remove the ones that are obviously wrong... ~ PheNaxKian Sysop 13:34, 15 December 2008 (EST)
Obviously wrong like "SH only has Adjacent range" or votes like "Cripshot is terrible" not votes that disagree with your opinion on a build. If you want to do that make an RFBM.----ﮎHædõ๘یíɳShadowsin sig 13:39, 15 December 2008 (EST)
Obvious fail votes yes I can agree with but then when anything contestable comes up a BM needs to know about it, because admins may and probably don't have the knowledge to decide whether removal is neccesarry. --Frosty 17:24, 15 December 2008 (EST)

No, you assume they do on the basis that you assume that they have enough self-judgment to be removing votes on issues that they are able to make an informed decision upon. Assume good faith. The moral here: don't be a douche. They're admins for a reason. That includes knowing what they themselves are capable of judging appropriately. Build Janitors

Like an admin but with no power to ban/remove votes and all that stuff. It would really help the wiki if a few people would be able to delete all the stupid redirects/welltaged/deletetaged build pages. Obviously would need some work but it means less crap for admins to do so they can get on making new stuff for the wiki, or more time to harass GWshack to fix or fucking outdated skills). Generally a Janitor, I know it would be hard to implement but just giving suggesting to how the wiki could move forward, instead of this current staticness. --Frosty 22:14, 21 December 2008 (EST)

Archive talk:Team - SoO Sinway

Prior to my two edits (undoing last edit and reinserting comment) the linked talk page was broken, and would only pop an error message. When looking at the last diff, you could go to "later" diffs, which were all empty edits with the same revision number. It's now editable again, but no matter which revision you edit, it will state you're editing an out-of-date version of the talk page. I don't know if deleting/undeleting will do anything (cannot try it myself), so I figured it might be best put here. --- Ohaider! -- (contribs) (talk) 11:46, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

Watchlist not clearing

I've noticed some entries on my watchlist are not clearing and recognising that I have visited them. An example at the moment is this diff. I've been to that page multiple times since that change was made, but the page keeps returning to bold on my watchlist. This seems to be happening randomly with pages, in some cases that were changed days ago with more recent entries correctly remaining unbolded above. Uh, and to add to the weirdness, the Admin Noticeboard just removed itself from my watchlist. Misery CowMisery Says Moo 14:11, September 27, 2009 (UTC)
Happens to me all the time too =/ I think the diff's don't remove from the watchlist because that's like viewing the history of the page or something, go figure my logic. Do you mean "clearing" as not vanishing from the list or still staying bold? They should vanish from the list upon commenting on the page. ---Chaos is gay - 14:15, September 27, 2009 (UTC)
Staying bold. Also, I ALWAYS use diffs when I check pages and it has always worked before. Also also, I tried just visiting the page to clear it and it didn't work. Also also aside, making them "vanish" when you edit them is a specific setting in your preferences, you can turn it off if you want to. Misery CowMisery Says Moo 16:39, September 27, 2009 (UTC)

Opera works fine for me; can't say about Safari, though. I've always put it down to a poor connection that drops alot, anyway. ~ӍiñonCrysig 14:29, 17 November 2011 (UTC)
If you've tried it in different browsers and it's slow that leaves it at either you're connection, or the server dying/being swamped. Now i can load a page as fast as any other website, and nobody else seems to be complaining about the speed, so that brings me to the conclusion that it's on you're end. ~ PheNaxKian talk 18:00, 20 November 2011 (UTC)

Windows Safari? Would be nice to have a fix or reason. On my end is pretty poor reason when it's just this site. Cuilan 20:51, 28 November 2011 (UTC)
given that nobody else is experiencing this issue (to my knowledge) it is your end. Per my above post, if it were our site, other people would be noticing it. Were it just Safari users, you would have noticed no (speed) issues in Opera (or IE, or FF, or Chrome, or any other web browser (aside the associated slowness with each respective browser)).
Yes the reason doesn't help. No I can't give you a better one because I don't have any other reasons for what you're explaining. ~ PheNaxKian talk 21:13, 28 November 2011 (UTC)

Two things: 1) Make sure you've got javascript on, then check your host files, then check your firewall(s) and 2) Stop using the only browser that's actually somehow worse than IE6. If neither of those fixes the problem, you're shit out of luck because this is very clearly entirely on your end, as Phen already pointed out. Danny 10:29, 29 November 2011 (UTC)

PVX-Colonel Hawk was a result of the move to wikia, as Colonel Hawk on PvX probably conflicted with an existing user on wikia's network. There was the option to merge them if you owned both accounts of course, but Hawk was inactive at the time. -- Toraen confer 22:45, 22 February 2012 (UTC)

Asirra is Broken

It's currently impossible to pass the cat test in safari, and for some reason it won't remember my login but that last thing is probably my fault with settings cuz it happens on fb aswell. On a slightly related note, am I supposed to select a pic of a cat+a dog? Can upload a SS if necessary. Falrach 18:17, 26 May 2012 (UTC)

Sounds like you have inprivate browsing switched on/high level of cookies getting blocked. For the cat pics, you just select all of the cat ones. Got another external report of "can't make edits" due to captcha. Cɥıǝɟʇɐıu Alǝx 20:58, 26 May 2012 (UTC)
Main issue is that when I'm not logged in, and I want to make a small edit I gotta login. I can't do it as an ip. When I select cat photos and press save, it just reloads the page. It doesn't say I fucked up clicking cats, it just says exactly the same as the first time I had to do the cat test. If I click them again, it refreshes again, into infinity. This happens both on pc and iPod. Falrach 21:27, 26 May 2012 (UTC)
Any news on this? Falrach 20:15, 30 May 2012 (UTC)
There's currently no known issues with Asirra, and you're the only user that's reported this issue...I'd suggest checking any addon/extension/plugin you have for updates or aything that might interact with the check in a funny way. I hate you guys right now <<. I'll look into it but I doubt there's much I can do. I'll check to see if there's an update for Asirra but that's pretty much it. If that doesn't fix it I'll shoot a bug report at the authors. ~ PheNaxKian talk 21:52, 30 May 2012 (UTC)
It also does not work on Firefox. Or IE. It may be due to the Mediawiki 1.19.1 update that we don't have. Asirra might have broken backwards compatibility. I haven't seen ANY IP edits in a while so Asirra needs to be replaced if it can't be fixed. -- Toraen confer 03:13, 22 June 2012 (UTC)

I thought it was only me because of some strange problem of my computer, but apparently Alex has this problem too. We randomly load completely blank pages just on PvX, especially when using the showing preview. Silen† 10:26, 21 June 2012 (UTC)

We've noticed the blank page issue occurring intermittently on pages with widgets on other Curse wikis and we're working on the issue, but due to it being intermittent, it may prove difficult to track down. :( If anyone should see this happen on pages that aren't using any widgets, this would be a different problem that we aren't aware of. A few things

  1. We're not Guildwiki, stop being so lazy and fix the footer after copypasting it.
  2. RC is pretty ugly with both sets of names appearing - is it possible to set just the display name?
  3. Archive space should be editable, which it currently isn't.
  4. Search suggestions aren't appearing when you type in the search box.
  5. "User talk" namespace doesn't appear before pagenames when edited in recent changes.

I kind of consider this to be a problem too. Ads should never interfere with content, not to mention it makes it look like your programmers suck. Firefox 16.0.1. I know it is old, but I don't have admin rights on this computer. A new misery 08:13, 2 May 2013 (UTC)

I played around a little bit. On my browser allowing scripts (I run noscript) from adtechus.com to run removed the banner ad and the offending ad which is clipping with history. A friend running saw no banner and no clipping, but then disabled All Points Bulletin and the the clipping started for him. Contrary and bizarre behaviour. His Firefox is up to date, that may be the relevant difference. A new misery 15:00, 2 May 2013 (UTC)

Got a weird issue with some votes where the username doesn't show up, and it gets replaced with my IP when I'm viewing it (see here (the one removed vote) and here (a removed vote and one still active vote) for some examples). I'm pretty sure it's somehow connected to users that haven't migrated over (the votes in question I'm 99% sure are from previous accounts of existing users, so they'll never migrate either). -- Toraen confer 12:02, 2 May 2013 (UTC)

  • We can not force migrate those accounts. Telshin
8. found another really important one considering the nature of this site, normal users cannot edit the buildspace either!
9. align="center" in the heading of tables (to align it centrally relative to the page) is having no effect. Chieftain Alex 13:30, 2 May 2013 (UTC)
9. I noticed the newer versions of MediaWiki now strip certain HTML attributes and CSS styles. Some of these are likely for security reasons, but I'm not sure why they'd strip align aside from it being depreciated for ages now. Nevertheless, that's what's happening here: the align="center" isn't being sent to the browser. I recommend placing margin: 0 auto; in the style part.
10. this is quite possibly due to rebuilding the database in the background, but the enchantment/hex/weapon-spell icons that are usually positioned on-top (z-axis) of the icons on skillbars seem to be missing. the same icons are also missing in the tool-tips. - Chieftain Alex 15:27, 2 May 2013 (UTC)
I found the problem with these ones, they use a relative address in the Mediawiki:Common.css. they need to be changed from:

  1. After logging in once, and leaving the site, I appear logged out, then when I press login, it logs in without me typing my password..
    • Yeah, this happens sometimes when you're still validly logged with the central servers, but not with the wiki itself. I don't if there are plans to change this behavior.
  2. I cannot seem to log in and merge User:Auto-Toraen, my bot account (not trying to merge it to this account, just make a new Curse Account). I tried removing the hyphen when choosing a new username, but the dialog insisted that I still had non-alphanumeric characters in the name. After the third try I just got a general error saying to contact Curse staff. -- Toraen confer 14:21, 18 May 2013 (UTC)
The name was probably changed in the merge process because of the hyphen. Was there an email address associated with the account? You should have received an email with the new username for the account if so. If you can't find any, I'll send this up for further investigation. OOeyes (talk) 23:03, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
It would have had the same email as this account. I have nothing in my inbox related to the Auto-Toraen account currently, though it may have accidentally been deleted when I was clearing out the messages for this account. I did check the history on some builds it edited to see if a name change was reflected there (it was for some accounts I think?) but no dice. -- Toraen confer 02:21, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
If you haven't already, could you try making the new account at http://www.curse.com and seeing if you get any different results? OOeyes (talk) 22:07, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
Solved. Apparently having the same email for both Toraen and Auto-Toraen on this wiki caused the account creation to flip out when trying it here. Registering AutoToraen on Curse with a different email and then merging the wiki Auto-Toraen to it worked. AutoToraen (talk)

Alex's Other Bugs

  1. Captcha is appearing for users pasting in external links - this is perhaps due to your problem with changing the meaning of autoconfirmed. - Chieftain Alex 10:05, 11 May 2013 (UTC)

pity, as it effectively renders the search option completely useless. - Chieftain Alex 23:49, 29 May 2013 (UTC)
Example of further testing, Archive:A/W Unsuspecting Wastrel returns Archive:A/W Unsuspecting Wastrel as expected. Searching for Wastrel returns News/20090118 and Category:News. No other results. The first page contains the word "Wastrel" once, the second page links to it, but otherwise has no relationship at all. In other words the suggestions do not just need improvement, they are totally broken. This is not cherry picking, this is literally the first example I got after hitting "Random build". This comes from searching "content pages", searching "everything" returns zero results. Manually ticking all categories returns no results. Ticking just "main space" returns the same as the default search. The entire extension seems to be incredibly broken. A new misery 15:22, 30 May 2013 (UTC)

The DPL extension was updated to a new version without the security issue, and I've noticed other DPL breakage where this was updated on other wikis. I'll investigate as soon as I can. OOeyes (talk) 08:20, 15 May 2013 (UTC)
DPL's functional richness setting is an oddball that is set by calling a function rather than assigning to a variable, so I think it may have been missed when copying the configuration in the merge. I have a request in to get the richness set to an appropriate value, which I think will address the issues we're seeing. OOeyes (talk) 00:13, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
I'm glad there's at least a solution for this. Also, if the security issue is indeed gone, feel free to have the restriction of DPL only running on protected pages removed. It wasn't even really needed with the wiki locked down anyway. -- Toraen confer 02:30, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
I've found that Grace Expired is not displaying the date and thus not highlighting any build that has overstayed its grace period (I don't know how long this has been the case). It doesn't seem like any changes have been made to DPL either. -- Toraen confer 19:59, 18 June 2013 (UTC)

DPL remains broken. It is currently used on PvXwiki:Policy (bottom two sections), Grace Expired, News, and Template:Main Page/Builds/editcopy (random builds section), yet they all have various problems displaying the intended lists. Alex has attempted to diagnose the problem with no luck. -- Toraenwiki 17:52, 30 September 2013 (UTC)

It seems to be working from what I am seeing? The section under PvXwiki:Policy#Current_Proposed_Policies works. I did check, ExtDynamicPageList::setFunctionalRichness(3);, is set for GWPvX. Azxiana (talk) 18:44, 2 October 2013 (UTC)
no it is not working. try editing User:Chieftain Alex/Code Sandbox and just put {{#dpl: | category = All working PvP builds | randomcount = 3 | randomseed = {{#time:Ymd}} | count = 3 | noresultsheader = ''No builds in this category.'' }} on the page. If it was working, it would display a list of three builds. If it wasn't finding any results, say because I'd mistyped the name of the category, it would display "No builds in this category" (once). The version on this wiki provides that message twice - even though it should be finding results. thats broken. - Chieftain Alex 21:41, 2 October 2013 (UTC)
Also, check the other three pages I linked, and the section immediately below the one you linked back. The Policies Currently Being Revisited section doesn't show the one result it's supposed to (see Category:Policy revision) and displays the error twice, the News DPL doesn't work at all, Grace Expired does not function correctly, and neither does the random builds DPL on the main page editcopy (which was on the main page proper until it stopped working). -- Toraenwiki 21:55, 2 October 2013 (UTC)
hmm k i looked at pvxwikipolicy + it does rather seem to be working on that page... except that if you change the code to query a category with more than one entry, such as Category:All untested trial PvE builds, it goes tits up - notice that it only brings up one result. removing the "count" parameter results in it displaying 2 of the possible 4 results. If I give the dpl a bad parameter name, it doesn't tell me anything, it silently hides the error. - Chieftain Alex 22:03, 2 October 2013 (UTC)

Broken Namespaces

All links going to the Build or Archive namespaces don't work. The Build namespace seems to plain not exist anymore according to the drop-down menu in recent changes. Needless to say, this makes all of our content inaccessible. -- Toraenwiki 01:29, 11 August 2015 (UTC)

Archive still seems to be correct as near as I can tell, but Build and Guide do seem to have disappeared. I'm filing a bug report with dev now. OOeyes (talk) 02:04, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
Ah I goofed on checking the archive namespace and forgot about guide entirely! Thank you for the quick response and researching the issue yourself. Here's to hoping it's an easy fix. -- Toraenwiki 06:05, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
It seems a corrupted merge last night caused custom namespaces to disappear, affecting many of our wikis. Dev restarted the merge, and it looks like it has corrected the issue. It may take some time for all of the links to update, though. We apologize for the inconvenience. OOeyes (talk) 16:23, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
Everything appears to be in order and for me the builds & guides are already working. Thanks for the swift response time; it's not always we've had a response in 30 mins on our noticeboard here on PvX. --DANDY ^_^ -- 16:46, 11 August 2015 (UTC)

Search

The Build namespace should be added to the namespaces enabled for searching by default, as in https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:$wgNamespacesToBeSearchedDefault SabSparrow (talk) 18:15, 16 May 2018 (UTC)

I have a ticket in for it as noted here, as I don't have access to the setting myself. OOeyes (talk) 00:08, 17 May 2018 (UTC)

AutoWikiBrowser

Can't even log in to PvX anymore (at least for me). I get this error when trying to login with AutoToraen:

**description**: **workaround**: -------------------------- <table><tr><th>Exception:</th><td>`ApiErrorException`</td></tr> <tr><th>Message:</th><td>`API returned the following error: 'The "login" module requires a POST request.'`</td></tr> <tr><th>Call stack:</th><td><pre> at WikiFunctions.API.ApiEdit.CheckForErrors(String xml, String action) at WikiFunctions.API.ApiEdit.Login(String username, String password, String domain) at WikiFunctions.Profiles.AWBProfilesForm.PerformLogin(String username, String password)</pre></td></tr> </table> **OS**: Microsoft Windows NT 6.2.9200.0 **version**: AutoWikiBrowser (6.1.0.1), WikiFunctions (6.1.0.1), revision 12353 (2019-09-17 21:16:42) **net**: 4.0.30319.42000 **duplicate**: **site**: http://gwpvx.gamepedia.com

It may actually be a problem with AWB rather than gamepedia, given the error message, but I figure we should check that the API is actually working correctly. -Toraen (talk) 13:58, 4 August 2020 (UTC)

Nevermind the above, forgot to set AWB to https (thought that was the default). Now I still get an undescriptive "Failed" message on login attempt though, presumably for a password mismatch but I've never changed the password on that account. -Toraen (talk) 14:09, 4 August 2020 (UTC)
Disregard this entire section, I just suck at awb and bot passwords. AutoToraen (talk) 14:20, 4 August 2020 (UTC)

Can't access second page of a Category

Hey, I don't know if this is the right place for this, but I can't seem to open the second page of the "Archived tested farming builds" section. The "next page" button is not working for me, on both PC and mobile. Do you also have this error or it's just me? o_O Feydslynox (talk) 15:34, 28 September 2020 (UTC)

Hrm not sure why this is. I agree it doesn't seem intentional.
In the meantime I've added category index links A-Z along the top - click on any letter from E onwards to see the last 50 pages of the total 250. -Chieftainalex (talk) 17:34, 28 September 2020 (UTC)
Edit, just confirmed this applies to every category with more than 200 pages. Adding an index template to all categories is not an acceptable workaround. Requires fixing. -Chieftainalex (talk) 17:44, 28 September 2020 (UTC)
Seems fixed. -Chieftain Alex (talk) 23:15, 15 October 2020 (UTC)

Deletion log internal error

Brought to my attention by User:Cyber Smoke, if you go far back enough in the deletion log there's some entry in there which throws an internal database error. https://gwpvx.gamepedia.com/index.php?title=Special:Log/delete&offset=20190620155735&limit=1&type=delete&user= (press "older 1" after this one). Maybe Smoke can clarify if there's some other time when this bug appears or not. -Chieftain Alex (talk) 20:54, 14 April 2020 (UTC)

It's actually on Curse's bug report list, it's caused by a page that somehow had a whitespace at the start of its name. Page itself was deleted so we could use search again, but now the deletion (and move I think) logs will throw the error. -Toraen (talk) 23:40, 14 April 2020 (UTC)

Custom Reasons for Page Deletions

Our set of custom reasons for page deletions like Build/WELL and Build/Grace Expired: Abandoned has disappeared. --Krschkr (talk) 20:13, 2 October 2020 (UTC)

It used to take the inputs from MediaWiki:Deletereason-dropdown. No idea where it's pulling those values from now, maybe some central curse thing? -Chieftainalex (talk) 00:09, 3 October 2020 (UTC)
Seems fixed. -Chieftain Alex (talk) 23:15, 15 October 2020 (UTC)

Moving Pages

The option to move pages hasn't got a link attached to it anymore.
Workaround:
(1) Add Special:MovePage/ to the URL in front of the namespace. Change https://gwpvx.gamepedia.com/Build:R/any_PvP_Poison_Arrow to https://gwpvx.gamepedia.com/Special:MovePage/Build:R/any_PvP_Poison_Arrow
(2) Shift+Alt+m does the same as the explained manual workaround. --Krschkr (talk) 20:13, 2 October 2020 (UTC)

Not sure where you're looking at, I've still got a move button which links to the right page, under the dropdown vector menu by the search box, brings up the move page dialogue as expected. Got a screenshot? -Chieftainalex (talk) 00:05, 3 October 2020 (UTC)
It's there for me, too, but other than Delete, Protect and Purge it doesn't have a link anymore. I don't think there'd be anything special to see on a screenshot. At least it seems like this issue doesn't affect everyone, possibly just me, and since I have an easy workaround it won't bother me too much. Still weird. --Krschkr (talk) 00:22, 3 October 2020 (UTC)
So the menu appears, and there is a button for "move" but it doesn't link anywhere? Or the menu appears and no button appears at all?
You haven't got any custom CSS or Javascript wiki-side, I can't see any code in the site-wide CSS/JS which would cause you to have different buttons to me, and you're autoconfirmed, so there definitely should be a move button. The only things I can think of which could affect it would be: (1) Browser? (2) Browser extensions modifying page appearance, such as uBlock/adBlock, or even custom stylesheets using things like Stylish.
We could also temporarily blank MediaWiki:Hydra.css, MediaWiki:Hydra.js, MediaWiki:Common.css and MediaWiki:Common.js temporarily to see if that fixes it. -Chieftainalex (talk) 10:43, 3 October 2020 (UTC)

Subpages

These seem to be disabled in the Archive talk namespace (and very likely Build, Build talk and Archive as well) so subpage linking does not work. Also Template:Talkarchive will end up linking to the same page it's on instead of the actual base page. Subpaging still works correctly for User talk, so this is probably just a switch Fandom/Gamepedia need to flip somewhere. Toraen (talk) 08:54, 8 January 2021 (UTC)

I believe I have flipped the correct switches. Leave me a message if it doesn't seem to be working correctly. SBEyes (talk) 04:44, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
Seems to be working (pages do require a purge/null edit before previously existing subpage links work, but that's kinda expected). Thank you! Toraen (talk) 11:23, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
