Legioway[]

Hello Toraen, I'm trying to edit the Legioway and combine the IV and BiP variants. But I came to the point where I'm removing so much that the automated edit prevention activates ("Large removal"). This is what I'm trying to edit it to: Legioway. DarkManic1337 (talk) 22:21, 27 August 2019 (UTC)

You might need to edit by section, or have Krschkr help you out. I'm no longer an admin so I can't bypass the filters anymore. He could promote me to filter editor though and I could take a look at that filter to see if it's even needed anymore. I think Gamepedia has a similar global filter enabled that generates less false positives. -Toraen (talk) 23:58, 27 August 2019 (UTC)

Archive:R/any Hard Mode Spike Trapper[]

Hey. Two recent votes didn't favour this build. Of the other three voters only you are still active. Do you consider your old vote from 2012 still up to date? --Krschkr (talk) 14:57, 3 January 2020 (UTC)

I'd say that build has probably become a victim of power creep. It still works, but is pretty slow just because of the necessary prep time. Being a way for rangers to farm the same foes doesn't hold all that much weight when I'm pretty sure a spirit farmer can take care of most/all of the same enemies. The ones where it can't have specialized farms that are significantly faster (like raptors). -Toraen (talk) 19:32, 3 January 2020 (UTC)
I will say that there's a pretty steep learning curve to pulling multiple groups into traps, but it's not impossible. I'm probably not capable of it anymore since it's been so long, but successfully doing so does significantly reduce time taken to farm. -Toraen (talk) 11:27, 5 January 2020 (UTC)

I'm not dead or sick[]

Work is just crazy right now. Probably won't get to help with variantbar/buildpack/pvxcode stuff for the foreseeable future. -Toraen (talk) 10:47, 20 March 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for letting us know. Have a not too bad time! --Krschkr (talk) 00:08, 30 March 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for updating the Curse noticeboard[]

Per these revisions I've updated the relevant Abusefilter (#4) to be significantly less annoying for Autoconfirmed Users who also have 10 or more edit contributions. -Chieftain Alex (talk) 21:50, 3 April 2020 (UTC)

Regarding AutoToraen[]

I've last updated the files on october 2nd and the bot still worked at that point. However, when I try to update links now, the script will throw the vague error WARNING: Success message not received for 'PvXwiki:Editing Builds'! (with 'PvXwiki:Editing Builds' being any page that should receive the change). Maybe one of the recent Fandom/Gamepedia merges messed up previously functional wikibots? --Krschkr (talk) 15:43, 22 December 2020 (UTC)

Hmm, it seems to work here (find and replace through the script). Which thing were you trying to have the bot do?
EDIT: It seems I've made one update to the bot that I forgot to upload to Github, but it's just an error description update that doesn't seem to be relevant to the error message you're getting. Toraen (talk) 21:11, 22 December 2020 (UTC)
The action was 'updating links of moved/deleted pages' in the mode 'check logs'. --Krschkr (talk) 11:00, 23 December 2020 (UTC)
Seems like it still works for you. Hmm. --Krschkr (talk) 11:56, 23 December 2020 (UTC)
(EC)AutoToraen seems to be rampaging fine (I used those settings, setting the date to 2020-12-22). I don't know if I will be able to reproduce the issue. Toraen (talk) 11:57, 23 December 2020 (UTC)

Oh hey I finally encountered this issue, hopefully will have a fix identified soon. Toraen (talk) 21:06, 7 February 2021 (UTC)

Looks like one cause is the submitted wikitext tripping a spam filter, which can happen when the existing wikitext has something in it that would be blocked by the spam filter and that part was not modified by the bot (ie. the offending text was in place before the spam filter was deployed). Toraen (talk) 21:20, 7 February 2021 (UTC)
New version is up that at least tells you why a page fails now. Will work on a way for it to correct the page and keep going. I'm thinking it will require some user interaction though to ensure that the spam filter is blocking something that should actually be blocked. Toraen (talk) 22:08, 7 February 2021 (UTC)
And now it should allow editing of page content based on the spam filter (for now, it replaces the offending text with "(removed due to spam filter)"). It's difficult to keep testing this as I run out of known pages to test the code on (I can't experimentally create new ones due to the existing spam filter in the first place) so let me know if it encounters any more errors. It should be a bit more descriptive about them now. Toraen (talk) 18:49, 14 February 2021 (UTC)
